HELP i keep breaking LH Engine mounts - any mods or tips to change it or fix it. Any thoughts appreciated! a mate once drilled out the chassis bracket & put a body mount in it but i would think it would vibrate |

Are you replacing them with new genuine mounts? Check all your other mounts - gearbox crossmember - they may be torn, allowing more than normal rotational forces to tear the mount, when the motor torques up on the passenger side. Some aftermarket mounts are harder and brittle compared to the genuine, genuine are nice and squishy, giving a quieter ride also. Genuines aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for... |

Genuine one around $150 i found out. In the end I drilled a hole right thru the guts of it, ground off the weld on the top plate and bashed the pin out and put the bolt right thru it ( 8.8 grade of course) Seems to work great and no increase in vibration over the std one - HMMMM now I will out and find those hills again!!!! |
