Nah mate, this is the "fender bending" that is required to get the 'pedes under the front. They just catch the front guard near the firewall by about 10 mm or so on part lock. Just wanted to get The panel work done by someone that knows WTF they are doing (ie not me!). I could have done it myself but I'm not to "artistic" with the angle grinder and BFH.

Sorry about missing the meeting, but did not get the fender-bending done on the 1/3 due to illness (chest pains - 14 hrs in A&E on the Sunday night with some more tests still to come).

The good news is that I am without wheels for the next couple of days, yes, it is in for the chop!!! Pick it up Friday night.

Next is the body lift.......8 x 76 mm diameter mild steel blocks 32-35 mm long, with 19 mm hole drilled in them, and about an afternoon with a couple of jacks and helpers, pizza and a slab or two.

Any takers??? Need a location as I live in a "6-pack" block of units with absolutely no room apart from totally blocking the driveway.

I take it that last pick is without the body lift??

I don't reckon it needs any more lift, put the body lift on the shelf until the 33's roll under it.

Yeah just took it down to South Rd/Warragul Rd corner (piles of roadbase materials) and got it as squashed and stretched as much as I could and the wheels "didn't even touch the sides".

I'll go and take a few more photos now in the daylight........

you would be surpried what a difference it can make in certain circumstances. I reckon if you are going to do it because you find the sills are getting bashed I'd do it before thewy get bashed. No point destroying the panels if you don't have to

I wish I had done a small lift on the GU before I took it out to play .. would have saved a few parts on it I belive .. 1 1/4 inch is abou the difference in sill clearance between a 31 and a 35 ... can be quite remarkable what a difference it can make ... if you have plans for it, but are going to adopt the wait and see attitude .. I would actually do it .. then pull it if I didnt like it ... my .02cents .

On the otherhand - i think you can buy Goodyear Wrangler Tyres in different tread patterns too.
