Will 295/75R16 tyres fit on my standard RR rims pictured below? Confused

Just spoke with Bjanes and they are willing to change the tyres there holding for me Cool

( stupid damn 265s #Rofl

They are a 7" rim so they should fit. The problem you will have is offsetting that rim. A 295mm wide tyre will rub severely running those rims. To put it into perspective, 35/10.5/16 ET's are 285mm wide and rub on my radius arms even with offset disco rims.

Of course you could always just adjust your steering stops, but they would need to be adjusted to the point of removing any steering ability.

But in answer to your original question - they will fit! Very Happy

UMMMMM... those are alloys....
don't think you will find anyone to change the offset....

what you need is some steel disco rims

not sure of 295, but I know a 285/75 16 needs to LEGALLY be fitted to a 7.5" + rim....

so.... yes they will fit but they will rub like mad and are not legal on a 7" rim

whats the difference in the offset of the steel disco rims they need to be 16"

i don't think there is much difference in the offset, but the steel disco rims can be changed... not expensive, usually about $50/wheel... they cut the center out and either flip it and move it or just move it and re-weld the centre in.

You can not do this with alloys.
Steel disco rims can be had for around $100 each from most Rover wreckers....some even sell them already correctly offset for various size tyres

Steel wheels are welded together in the first place so yes welding is legal but peripheral welding is throwned apon ie cutting and joining 2 rims together to increase width .

Graham Cooper Automotive gets rims made up. 16x8 strong as, bit pricy but worth it I recon. I was looking at off-setting disco rims but was told they are not real strong and they are only 7" anyway. About a year ago I couldn't find disco rims for under 150 each and were hard to come by. Then you gotta buy some 8" wide rims and swap the centres. The Graheme Cooper ones are heaps less hassle and stronger too.

What about in 15" wheels, the price I have spotted was abit above current wheel budget Confused

Maybe I should post a wanted add for four or five 15" wheels with more offset ? Exactly how does the offset work? Is it the amount of mm measured from the wheelnuts to the furthest inner part of the rim???

Anthony i can get you steel rims anything from 15 x 7/15 x 8 or 16's starting at $125 each in black or white with 80MM off set Very Happy

16x8's would be nice the only thing is the offset and wider wheels have one down fall....... I am gonna have to fork out some more cash to fit a set of flares Twisted Evil
