Just bought a new GU TD-6 and thinking of putting a 4" lift kit. Has any one had experience with the wizzard gear Question Was going to use Rancho shocks but have heard some bad and some good reports Confused Should I pay the extra and get Koni shockies. It's a good truck and I want it to run nicely for day to day 'round the 'burbs. What do ya think. Confused

Go Koni.

Personally I went with the BigBalls kit, and had Rod at Total4wd Center Epping do the work and engineers certificate for it. Long drive, but was worth it.

also in Langy...

i recently threw my rancho's away and fitted ome-l series shocks

makes a huge difference to the truck both onroad and offroad.

I love the travel that I get with the rancho's but I am less and less impressed with the ride quality. If the Koni's are factory produced at the right lengths then go the Koni's. I wouldn't bother with the re-valved truck models as I have heard of them failing due to teh fact they've been dicked about with. I'm sure the OME long shocks are alright. I have Pedders 80 series front and tough dog rear shocks on a GQ and it handles loads better than the GU on Rancho's and the GQ doesn't run swaybars, haven't compared the wheel travel yet though.

Used to have OME's in my bravo and the front were buggered after up north last year. Mind you 3 hours of corrugations along the Old Ghan railway and nearly everything fell apart. Any one seen the new Tough dog shocks Question

Hey Bogged what truck do you drive??
Talked to the guys at Total 4WD and were one of the few people around here that seemed to know thier stuff.
Might see if Cheezy has sliders to suit the GU before I head bush this weekend. Recon the alloys will get pretty bent up on O'Bridle track. Should be interesting though. Laughing

Why not replace the alloys with Sunnys before you go, they are only ~$90 for 16x8's.

I drive a black GQ.

Yeah I'm going to get some steel rims for it soon. Ment the alloy sidies getting bent up 'though not too worried 'bout them.
Nice truck, seen it around from time to time.

Rather dent the steps than the sill pannels.
Went to Cheezy's factory today looked at his sliders and talked about the lift kit. His working out a price. He's got some good ideas. The tough dog shocks look like they might be the go. Smile

Did the trip on the weekend. Had a ball. Got up old section of flats track no worries. One guy in a cruiser had 3 goes and still couldn't do it. The tracks around there are getting to be fun again. No damage so i'm all smiles. Very Happy Very Happy
