How can you tell if the motor is a 24v or a 12v,i bought a winch that was on a 12v car and its got 24v plate on the winch but no indacation on the motor |

if you have access to a known 12v motor measure the winding resistance and compare, or hook it up to 12v if it runs alright its 12v if it sounds like its struggling its probably 24v or its rooted. |
