where are the best places in au (pref syd) to buy parts for making up suspension and steering links ??
What sorta balls and joints should i look at ???

O'Brien aluminium in Smithfield for 6.4 mm 6061 aluminium rod.
Kyosho 1/8th scale ball ends or the Traxxas ones if you can get them.
Most Hobby Shops should have them, where are you ?

Not sure how much Kyosho either of them stock but you want the 1/8th scale captive ball rod ends and associated balls.

What truck is it? We have both stock wheelbase and long wheelbase 4 link kits in stock for a Clod. They may do for what you need.....
