Hey all.
I need some advice about my crusie control . It's the Command model shown in the pic.
My problem is it won't set to anything higher than about 103 kph. I called a few people and they said that's the way they are made. That's no good for long drives and 110 k zones. Any help about getting it to set at 110 k would be great.
Thanks.
It's running on a 97 GQ 4.2 Diesel.
Also it's a Vacuum style Cruise Control system. |

If it is simular to Roscta (sp) c\cont units there will be a gain setting for speed control. On Roscta type there is switchs under a panel in the control unit. These change how the unit operates. If you have the install instructions it may tell you how to set this.
Does the cruise set a low speed, like 10-30km\h. If it does then the gain setting is on low. If it dosn't there may be a fault with the unit. |

Where's the vacuum come from? In a petrol engine it uses manifold vacuum to supply the control unit, but I wouldn't have thought a diesel could get the same vacuum. Is it possible that the engine just doesn't generate enough vacuum above 103 km/h? |

We normally fit stepper motor type cruise to diesel, but have fitted vac type for cost reasons. Most vac pumps create enough vacuum to operate if in good condition. |

Ok, it's a diesel. The Actuator has a Vacuum hose coming out of it joining onto a line that comes from a small black barrell on the passenger side, back corner of the engine bay. Sorry to sound like a newbie, but this is my first Patrol and I'm still learning what and where everything is. It's a big difference from the little zook.
I hope that makes sense.
cheers
This is not my engine bay. But you can see the barrell I am talking about in the top right of the pic. It's mounted to the inner guard.
