just watched the local news and they said some beaches closed, speed limits reduced, and camping numbers are being capped.
they also said that it is not being introduced until it has been properly announced to all user groups and if rejected won't happen.
but the main reason is over population of camp grounds in holiday season and the problem with human body waste. so far the place is contaminated and they need to sort it out.

I didn't catch all of it, only parts I heard were: ban being put in place because of the rising risk/number of people being hit by 4bys and the $200 a year for the permit.

the place use to be a great family spot ,now it is full of littering drunken yobbo's who drive too fast doing donuts etc .
But the imposing of a fee will not stop the tools, more police and rangers can. If they spent the extra money on police and rangers then i would happily pay.

That's what my news said the money would be going to, more rangers and police. I love 4bying but I dont think I'd ever drive on a beach, apart from Fraser. I still wouldn't trust myself with kids running around etc, most youngens I've seen dont bother to look out for cars these days. I still think itd be fun but 4byin out woop woop is tonnes better

I think it will stop most of the tools.
Example: Moreton. Expensive yes, yobbos, rare.

Its unfortunate (for those that do the right thing) but how else do you keep them out?

and this is an Australia wide problem...more people, more dickheads.

been going to D.I for approx 20years and can still remember the rangers stopping my mates dad in the old landy(i was 15 at the time) asking if he had a permit. he commented that he did and rekoned that the money should go toward facilitys eg shitters on the open side for the camper. ranger rekoned they would be built within a year.... i am 37 now still no shitters. numbers are capped already.

after the xmas break you may as well go sleep in the dunny of the local pub and if it rains the stench is unbearable. we are going to moreton for this xmas.

It is a pity that they cannot issue one permit for all beaches/parks rather than individual permits for Fraser, Moreton, Staddie etc

yeh one permit that covers all parks would be a great idea, just have it as a sticker you put on the windscreen of ur car and it covers for all national parks in seq, morton, straddie, fraser, di, etc etc

That can't do that, they won't have enough money to cover all "resources" then. Rolling Eyes
