I am not sure what you have broken, but in Gladdy I found a diesel place over in Barney Point but I can't remember their name they did some work on my 1HZ and they are great.

Before you take it though, run the motor and pop the radiator cap off and see if it is bubbling or an oily film is present in the water. PM me if you don't have any success or need a hand to figure it out.

If it is dead, I just removed a perfectly good 1HZ from my 100 series to put in a 1HDT I am willing to let go for quite cheap.

Check your vitals.
ie water and oil.
Best to change the oil if you think the cooling system is ok.

Get a co test done of the coolant, to check for any combustion gasses in the coolant, which will show if youve done a head/ gasket.

Sometimes your lucky.
if you can run it without it overheating, or pressurising the cooling system, you may be ok.

Sounds like head gasket. Start up and open your radiator cap. Look for bubbles/oil.

my turbo 1hz did the exact same thing a while ago. when it was hot it was blowing smoke and when i took the oil filler cap off it had heaps of blow by but once it cooled down it was fine.
it was like it got so hot that the rings stopped sealing or something. at the time i thought i had cracked a piston or broken a ring.

it's been perfect since.

So let me get this right, you've had the car for a while now I assume without any heating issues and all of a sudden it's over heating and some knob has told you to pull the A/C condensor Rolling Eyes

If the ac condensor has been there from the start, how come its an issue now Question I think not

Do yourself a favour and pull the radiator and have it cleaned or replaced. They fill up inside and also on the lower section outside from grass seeds etc. Renew the radiator cap too.

Replace the theromstat and while your there, remove the pump and check it for play. There should be no lateral play, if there is just replace it.

The engine fan is the best way to keep your engine cool. When you spin the fan blade (with the engine off) it should only move a a few blades before stopping. If it spins easily, renewing the viscous fluid in the fan clutch will ensure it works properly.

Now your cooling system is working 100%, get it pressure tested for leaks and this may reveal a cracked head gasket. if not your good to roll.

The factory temp gause had a massive dead spot in it so the average driver doesn't panic every time it moves. Unfortunately in most cases by the time it does move and the driver spots it, it's too late. Fitting a quality after market gause will give you piece of mind as will fitting a temperature alarm in the top hose.

Removing the AC condensor will be a complete waste of time

yeah cheers guzzla, going to get the radiator flushed during the week and i did get a test done and nothing came up on fumes in the radiator or whatever it is they find, went fourbying today and drove pretty hard, but i made a lot lot bigger effort to keep an eye on the guage and it was fine the whole time, im just guessing its because of the amount of revs and having the turbo fully spooled up with the engine work harding with the numerous attempts at the long hills just got it really hot and because i was to busy trying not to hit a tree or roll it that i wasnt able to notice and pull up before it got so hot

Someone has already said it but check your fan clutch. It may not be fully shag but starting to ciause problems. Even run a good thermo may help to.
