well today the gf and i parted ways after about 7and a half years together, we lived together for about 5 and a half and i got to say its kinda weird being on my own again except for the dog which is still here. it was an amacable parting of ways as we need sum time apart to get our shit sorted and decide what we want out of life, well she knows what she wants but i wasnt in to much of a hurry as i was happy with how things were. so for now i guess i got to stop being hard on ma self and get back to living life. |

Its funny how people outside the relationship influence it so much...
I just had a d'n'm with a girl I'm seeing, she wants it official that we are no longer dating and actually going out out to satisfy friends of hers basically.
I said, why change a good thing?

It's more than just a bit of paper to me and getting married does not have to cost a fortune.
Celebrant in a park, friends & family bring plates(with food) & some drinks for the reception.
I have never understood why people have to waste so much money on weddings. |

Agree, way overated. I'd rather put the $$$ towards a holiday. I really feel sorry for people who have to deal with Bridezillas and the like.
Well bazooked, now the dog can sleep in the bed. I wish I could have my cats in bed with me, I'm not 'allowed' to get the dog I want either... The things we humans go through to keep partners happy. It's alot of effort sometimes, but it has to be worth it. |

Chin up Mate, Might seem hard to deal with now, But give it a tiny bit of time & you probably will never look back
I was with my ex for 10 years (Married for 8) Parted company 4 & 1/2 years ago. The first 6 months I moped around a little, But Being 100% Honest the last 4 years have been the BEST 4 years of my life
My time is mine, Do what I want when I want no exceptions, MOney is all mine, Tv is all mine, Beer Fridge & Myself have never got along better than the past 4 years!! Don't get dragged along to the same old rellie bashes with the same old stories being told. I have been on some awsome fishing, camping & 4wd trips. No nagging or questioning what I'm doing, If I have felt a tiny lonely have done dating sites but the 4 chicks I have dated all ended up being a Bloody Headache again. If I feel even lonelier $200 will fill those urges by hired help 20 times better than I would probably pick up
Single Life all the way for me now - Life is to easy that way..
Take it easy. |

Thats just crazy.
I love being married its the best thing in the world IMHO, but why waste so much money on one day when it could be used on things you need or want after the wedding. |

I agree totally, have two friends who are engaged (thanks guys, putting ideas out there!).
they are broke, ney in alot of debt. but are talking 100 guests at 80-100 each just for the reception!
I offered to make them a spit roast to feed the masses etc etc but no they want the white doves kind of day.
they will be down 15k or more I reackon!
fark that.
a few grand to have a party with, a holiday and your done, still the kind of gathering you only see a few times in your life, but 1/4 the cost.
Im lucky thought, my missus is more likely to go cheap but then we have a big holiday! one day though... not yet! |
