A correctly matched ball bearing turbo will not be laggy, and provide far better gains then a supercharger!

go back to third. Seriously it should fly even with 35's maybe look at a better gas setup (injection). that might be your problem

Marks reduction gears in the transfer is another way to regain what youve lost.

Go the turbo, I did one years ago and it was awesome, no harder than any other vehicle to turbo. There are a few options, kits available now as well as custom stuff. It's not difficult to make double the power without any issues, and the bottom end is tough in them.
I did a duel fuel Safari system 4.5 L with a Gasresearch carby, and have done roller bearing turbos on straight LPG and petrol only vehicles.

Cheers

Joel

I fitted 4.56 diff gears and have recently fitted 45% rockhoppers from BBM.

Now when off road the mighty 80s cant be stopped.

My last 80 ran 35's and it was noticeable, but the power of the motor std was sufficient....but i wanted more, so i put extracters on, then a free flow exhaust, finally a safari turbo system, and after that, it was a weapon. Down side was premium unleaded, upside was power to smoke tyres under acceleration. Rediculous power Smile
