VANDALS!!
Just received this information on an internet newsletter. This stuff makes my blood boil so let's try to help so we can make the idiots who did this accountable! If anybody can help please post up everything you know. I will forward information to the relevant people. Thanks.
No wonder Parks Etc want to close places down.
Many of your readers will be familiar with the Red Bluff camp ground on the SA/Vic Border Track at the southern edge of the Big Desert Wilderness, this site has been developed and maintained by the Wimmera 4WD Club and Parks Vic over the last 10 or 12 years. Most visitors treat the site well, removing their rubbish and generally looking after it.
Therefore the news that the area has been desecrated will come as a shock to most people. A group who camped at Red Bluff last Saturday night reported the damage to Parks Vic and the Wimmera 4WD Club. The damage included knocking over fencing and vegetation, cutting down trees (not even to use as fire wood), digging of a big hole, ripping up the area doing 'circle work' with vehicles and motor bikes, broken glass and rubbish scattered around.
The party who reported the damage have also provided a number of photo’s of what this group got up to
The evidence indicates that damage occurred between Friday 20th June and last Saturday 28th June. If any readers have visited the Red Bluff camp in that time I would like to hear from them so we can narrow down time at which the damage was done. I think the weekend 21/22nd of June is the likely date.
Yours in Sustainable 4WDing
Dick Gill

Sorry, photos didn't come up. They are located at the web address at the bottom of my post. Any ideas how to show these photos? They show just how bad the damage is. |

OK, so we're looking for a Navara-driving Kiwi!!
Is that milk bottle from Safeway or Woolworths? Might tell us if they're Victorian or South Australian. |

I wish you boys did have the time and budget to investigate sh1t like this. 4x4 drivers have got a bad enough image problem with the general public these days even though the vast majority of us deep down are acutally nature-lovers. That's why we do what we do - to enjoy the bloody bush, not ruin it!!!
Wish I had a gun and a badge for a day. RN can I borrow yours? I promise I'll only flash the badge real quick so they wont see your details!!!
Flash BANG! |

Mate, there's nothing wrong with doing doughnuts if they're being done on private property. Don't f@#king do them in areas that belong to all of us! Not everyone gets pleasure from seeing the landscape torn up unnecessarily.
People travel to these places to enjoy the landscape, wildlife, serenity, etc. If people want to fang around in their vehicles like maniacs, they should go to a place that caters for that kind of driving. |

From the pics, it looks like its dirt. I don't reckon dirt gets too hurt from tires churning it up
But anyway. They should be strung up for the other damage they've done. Just get a little worried that circle work is thrown in the same category as the other blatant vandalism. |

I think the donuts and the associated noise and atmosphere of who-gives-a-fark hooliganism is too potentially damaging to the general reputation of 4WDing to do it in public spaces. |
