My dirt cheap 3yr Conia 42" Plasma does that when I'm watchin footy thru th computer tuner, the HD channels are worse.
I don't see blocks tho, I see horizontal lines.
My guess is the refresh rate can't keep up with the quality of the picture?
CRT's don't have th problem.
I also don't have a problem either watchin telly or playing th 360 on it with sunlight streaming into the room and even directly onto th screen.
Can look at it from any angle, as long as I can see th screen the picture is clear.
No problems with screen burn so far either....
BUT there are problems with colour smudging between shades.
It's like there aren't enough colours particularly in darker shades.
Good luck with ur new purchase Ruff. |

Footy's fine on my LG plasma, but when I'm watching F1 I get it at times. I've watched LCDs and they were much worse. |

I run a Toshiba 42" LCD that has both my HD settop box on and my computer hooked up to. I had a plasma but that was useless for the computer. I can sit back and surf Outers from the comfort of my lounge chair using a wireless keyboard and mouse.
The only problem I have is using the HDMI input for the computer to the LCD. If I switch to another source and leave the computer running then switch back it doesnt recognise it.
But aside from that it is awesome. Even the torrents of Topgear look good on 42" of LCD. |

ive got a question. i got a 42inch LG plasma yesty.
when playing xbox on it there is a delay. between moving the controller and it happening on the screen? has anyone had this happen? anyway to fix it or is it life with a plasma??
also the footy isnt too bad but i noticed during a replay the ball looked almost blurry?? any tips on how to fix?
it is a 100hz unit which i thought was meant to fix these dramas? |

you are probably comparing an SD plasma to a HD lcd.
I have a 50" HD plasma and the pc looks brilliant on it aslong as you dont sit 1m away. |

Just bought a new 40 somthn inch Samsung LCD last week. With the purchase you get a blueray player with it so waiting for it to arrive.
The TV is the super dooper HD blah blah blah. And truthfully it is an absolutly awsome picture. Light years ahead of the ol hitachi 60 cm and the bloody huge rear projection we have. From all the research i did i wouldnt go near a plasma. The LCD is an awsome computer monitor aswell for our other PC that runs all the steareo. Even has a direct pc plug in it. |

Been have been looking at LCD/Plasma units.
I must say the Sony Bravia LCD's are very nice, but the price is just too prohibitive.
We have a rumpus room without a tele so the plan is to purchase one of the latest plasma's with HD and the kids can then invite their mates around, crank up the surround sound .
Later we will purchase a huge LCD when funds permit.
Must say, the choice is enormous but plasma seem to be better value for money. They apparently chew the juice more than LCD.....
Brand..tending towards known brands like Pioneer, Panasonic, Sony.
Choices

The LCD can wait and the technology will be so much more advanced in a few years when I think about updating our 32" LCD. The big LCD's tended to ghost more on action scenes ie sports.....
Ended up going for a Samsung 50 " Plasma. The features were good and 2 year warranty
Went to the same store over a couple of days and the best price varied depending on who you approached.
Its a fickled industry. |
