Mazda Bravo 99 4x4 2.5TD, Need advice on clutch and gearbox?

Took my ute in for a 180 000km service and surprise, surprise they told me I needed a new clutch and transmission as they were on the way out (still were both original). At this stage, when I engage the clutch, you get a shuddering feeling and when reversing and at slow revs in first have a loud rattle from the transmisssion.
I'm aware that this is a common problem in Mazda Bravos as I have read all the other entries on the forum but the question I'm asking the advice I'm seeking is:
1. What is the approximate price to overhaul or replace clutch and gearbox

2. Where is a good place in Queensland to get this done ( I am in Central Queensland) Question

3. Can you get tougher/upgraded gearbox or clutches for this model Question
