This is what happened to me today......
Th radio is on and I hear an add for a new automotive repair shop thats just opened 45 mins away from here......
They are giving away a "free" frontend alignment to every vehicle they service.... a basic service special price is also stated ( $80.00)....
The mind ticks over ..... I need a frontend alignment and a service wont hurt either.... so seeing I'll be in that town later I make a call and book in......
Arrive on the designated time and check the rig in.... the boss looks at me funny but "thinks" the rig should fit their machine.... ( it did ....just ! )
kewl.... I'm off to do a few other things and I'm to return in 2 hours time....
2 hours later....
I wonder in to the shop and the boss comes out to greet me...
" Ah Mr King ..... there's been a slight problem with your car"
"yeah....... like??? " I ask thinking the worst...
"well the apprentice has locked your keys in the ignition,.... you dont have a spare key by any chance do you?"
Huge sigh of relief......
"well I do have a spare better let me get it tho".... ( its hidden INSIDE my rig)..
The boss calls the shop foreman out to the counter and he and I then go out the back to where the patrol is parked........
The apprentice that locked the keys in is frantically working away trying to open the drivers door and judging by the sweat and tools he has lying around he's been at it for awhile...
As I watched from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered that it was unlocked.
"Hey,...It's open!" I said to the apprentice and foreman
To which the apprentice replied, "I know - I already got that side."
I bit my tounge so hard trying not to laugh and saw the foreman doing the same...... the apprentice kept on working away at the drivers door....
"Errrr I'll get the spare key if you like" I said to the apprentice
"you've got a spare..... thats fantastic " said the apprentice and he stopped working away at the drivers door straight away....
I opened up the passengers door fully and climbed in and retrived the hidden spare key, I then unlocked the drivers door and passed the key to the apprentice, then I shut the door and locked it again and climbed back out of the patrol......
About then the 8 or 9 other mechanics that had gathered around burst out laughing.... man I nearly wet myself too
The laughing went on for ages and I was still chuckling to myself on the way home....
I got the service free and a voucher for another free service too.....
As for the apprentice........ man will he cop it for months !! |

What a classic.
I had an apprentice fill the oil up to my rocker cover on a work rig once (at the dealership) but that is a classic |

Thats like what my auntie did.
Her and mum were shopping one day. She OPENED the front doors and then opened the boot to put the groceries in it. Put her keys in her hangbag by mistake then put that in the boot. (It was a sedan) The closed the boot door. Then she realised she had locked her keys in the boot. Panicing she LOCKED the front doors agian and went to find a phone booth to call the RACV to unlock the boot for her
The RACV came about 45mins later, and she wasn't a member at all. Had to sign up on the spot, $80 or what ever it was. The RACV guy, unlocked the front door...again, flicked the boot latch open and got her handbag out. To which Mum and my aunite stood there trying to hold back their laughter, realising what they could of done to open the boot!!!!
I give her heaps every time I see her! |
