November 7, 2008
Dear Friends
Thank you for participating in today’s Inaugural 4wd and Bikers Trek for SIDS and Kids Hunter
Region. I hope you have a fantastic time.
.
The 2008 Inaugural 4wd and Bikers Trek was an idea created by James Brooks, whose niece
Chloe died suddenly and unexpectedly at age 22 months. James wanted to create
awareness and funds for SIDS and Kids Hunter Region as his way of coping with grief
following little Chloe’s death. James has been involved with an online 4WD community who
supported him with his dream. Tony read about the Trek and also wanted to help.
Tony is an active member of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club which is a social club for
motorcycle riders over the age of 40. He has enlisted the support of the Ulysses Motorcycle
Clubs from across the region to come along for the ride.
Today is the fruition of their hard work and dedication to SIDS and Kids Hunter Region
in little Chloe’s memory.
Your support today will ensure that many other bereaved families, relatives and friends will
be able to have access to vital support and counselling following the death of their baby or
young child during pregnancy, birth, infancy or childhood. With your help SIDS and Kids
Hunter Region can achieve its vision: Finding answers ~ Healing families
Kind Regards
SueEllen
Robertson
Chief Executive Officer
SIDS and Kids Hunter Region

it ended up a great day! it's a shame some of the ones who left early didn't stick around. The rain cleared off and it ended up being a rather warm afternoon with some great music from the 2 bands that donated their time for the event. I spotted one or two people that i recognised from here and downunder forum..... only a couple actually said hi Razz I don't think many actually recognised me. But i had a great day!! had a few rums last night and slept very well indeed Very Happy
Again, well done James! i look forward to helping you out with next years event and talking to some of the bike guys there yesterday, we reckon we can quadruple the amount of bikes there.
It actually looked pretty good riding along the highway with all the bikes lined up behind me.......... who knows, the toy run started with a hand full of bikes, now there are more than 5,000 that show up each year Shocked

The Valkyrie on the right won the Show n Shine for tourer. Of course, when it was judged, the rain had stopped and they had wiped their bikes down all nice and shiny

The M109R won the Cruiser category. (second bike from the left)

no worries at all mate.... will be happy to be involved again.. and after talking to Mick Yule the president of the lower hunter branch of the Ulysses Club.. we reckon we could quadruple the number of bikes for next year.
I'm looking forward to working with you to make next year even bigger.

Just to let people know, the bikes raised just over $1,200 in fees..... not counting what they spent on raffle tickets and the auctions and food revenue.
