would love to help with something like this. we have a fair crew up here who race at cruiser all the time and would definately be starters. maybe we should approach cruiser park for a fun day money raiser?? on a rough count i could get about 15-20 trucks. maybe we should talk to park princess and festa?? too good of a cause to do nothing.
i am sure scooter would get us plenty of coverage as he is the local papers photographer and always at the park. maybe grab a local celeb or 2 and get some shots of them sh1tting their pants on certain tracks.
we are in. |

excellent park p. spoke to fest and he was keen to. any reason for a park trip especially the kids.. let me know how this goes and any ideas for it. was thinking off visiting the local car dealers to see if they would consider a drive day there with a few demo models.
come drive the new cruiser/patrol/pajero/tourag/kia????? etc for charity. bring your credit card because you will want one when you can see what it can do, etc etc.
after the hill drags and winch challenge there seemed to be a lot of familys lately. we will help on the sunny coast but we just need someone with the time to organise and delegate jobs to people like us who are keen to help the kids. |

excellent amber. will be a great event to be involved in.
if all states cant organise the same day it would be awesome if we could wrangle boner to each event as he had the heart to start this evergrowing ball rolling.
lets all get behind this guys and girls.
i am lucky enough to have 3 amazing kids who love to be outside and have the health to do it. thank the stars daily for that. |

no worries at all shane. i'm just putting a rough plan together, and if you're keen on helping, that would be even better. if we can organise a small group of people that are willing to help with the organising/running of the day, it would make it so much easier...
once i get the ok for what i have planned, i will let you know all about it. pm with your email, so i can send you something through.
talk soon - amber |

ok boner,
so we've made a little progress this afternoon for the qld event.
i have spoken to my boss (and owner of landcruiser mountain park) and he is all for having this day at the park.
the date we would like to have it on is sunday, 31 august. as this is our 20th birthday celebration and were planning an open day for then anyway. he has confirmed that all park entry fees for this day will be donated to the sids cause (currently $25 per vehicle).
i have sent an email through to shane (purplebus) with an outline for the days events, once he has a look at it, we'll fill you in more.
regards - amber |

Did'nt think about that will get a letter to you asp . I will see the worimi elders as soon as i get a letter from Sids. Every bit helps so keep up the good work. We should see if we can get a blessing from them as it is their land .And it might bring good luck .We can find out where we can have a bbq/car show ect,ect |

Yeah, I'm aware of that.
I'm not trying to put a down on what you're doing, or hijack the thread.
I just thought there might be more 4wd demographic / specific causes.
IMO, men's health issues are way under publicised.
I've chucked in my 2c............
I'll go away now.
But, good luck with this. I hope it goes well. |

then dont be shy, put your hand up and make it happen. fawkin sure nobody will deny what ya say is right up the old alley.
With the SIDS thing, I would suggest canvassing the 4wd magazines for sponsorship, whoever comes in with the bux and free 2 page adverts with full 4 page glossy article on the actual SIDS day gets the banners splayed roudn the place. |

A bit of a bugger if you have a few clubs going spread them around make sure you get them to sign a bit of paper to cover yourselves in god forbid an accident happens. boner [PS thanks for all you are doing you are all champs ] |

Absolutely guys, we definitely want to get behind this. We can publicise it in the magazine, on the website and through our newsletters in the months leading up to the event to get maximum exposure. It would be great to have a date locked in now so we can start publicising it in the mag.
I'll get someone along on the day to cover the event and give publicity to the event sponsors, so they have an added incentive to lend a hand. We'll also donate prizes like merchandise and subscriptions to be raffled off.
So are we talking a single event at Cruiser Park or multiple events around the country? From my experience places like NPWS who deal with Stocko can be extremely difficult to work with, when it comes to things like this.
My email address is brendan@4wdaction.com.au, or you can PM me here with any thoughts.
Great idea everyone, fantastic to see the greater community getting together for a cause.
Cheers Brendan |
