Hey guys. My forntera has just hit the 160k mark so U know what time it is. Has any one replaced a timing belt in this car them selves and what is involved. I am no mechanic but I go alright. Can it be done without a full workshop or skould I bite the bullet and go to a mechanic.???

as a mechanic i would say they are an easy belt to do but if you havent done a timing belt before i wouldnt tackle the job without a workshop manual as there are several timing marks to line up and you can get it wrong which will result in bent valves

Very easy to replace on these. Just dont rotate anything on the engine while your replacing it.
