the passenger side swivel hub has sprung a leak, on my 84 hilux. is it a hard/big job to replace the seals?. would i have to pull the axle out, or could i just pull the brakes to get it out? or is this job best left to the experts?

This thread will take you threw step by step on how to pull the CV and axle out.

Once as you have done this, there is a oil seal inside the housing. That is the one that needs to be replaced.

You can buy a swival hub seal kit (that does both sides) and has all the seals you need!!!

You may also need to pull the knuckle off and replace the seals and dust cover on the back of the knuckle!
