UHF Help

Pulled my uhf out of my hilux and put it into the vitara all works great until i start the engine and then i get a buzzing sound that increases with revs. I put a sound filter on which made no difference and i can even run the power off a car parked next to me and it will still do the same thing if the vitaras engine is running which makes me think its not alternator noise if i am running power off a seperate vehicle. I am thinking electrical interference but have no idea how to check for that. Can anyone help???

Posted in wrong forum, but, Sounds like points noise to me. U need to put a filtering cap on the points. I have seen these at Dick Smith, Base of the cap is earthed, and the flylead goes to the points.

Make sure it is earthed very well at both ends of the wiring, the filters aren't worth pissing on. If there is a problem fix it properly instead of bandaiding it.

try seperating the twin core aswell and make sure it isn't running near amplifier cables including that big red power one that makes any device give this sound Shocked
