The young fella has a Traxxas Bandit and when he runs it, the battery packs get blistering hot.
The packs are Traxxas 7.2V 1500mah, and one got so hot the plastic covering started to split.
It can't be good for the cells so, is this normal?
If not, any tips on how to stop the batterys cooking themselves?

Cheers,
Brett

That's not good, if the plastic wrap is melting Shocked .

Try lowering the gearing so the eletrics don't have to work that hard

Yeah Its not meant to get that hot. Mine on my Hummer H2 4x4 RC 1:8 scale gets dam hot, hot enough that its almost to hot to touch but it doesn't melt the plastic. You could try making some sort of heat sink to go around the battery out of some sort of plastic/metal Laughing
