Yeah EJ18. The conversion was fairly straight forwards, enlarged holes in engine crossmember to suit engine mounts, modify radiator outlets, custom alloy bell housing adaptor to connect EJ engine to EA 5spd dual range gearbox, custom tailshaft. The loom was probably the hardest bit, and I had expert help with that so made it easier.

The end result is excellent ... done nearly 300km's in it with no problems at all ( well it stalled once in the first 50ks for no reason, but never since ). Taking it up to cruiser park this weekend so I expect to break something then Smile

Of course when I say the conversion was fairly straight forwards, it wasn't really, but in the context of doing such a major conversion it was.

My mother did the mail run up Mt Buller for 15 years and had 3 of them over that time on LPG.

We tried a landcruiser at first but couldn't keep shakle bushes in it and brake shoes so we went to the brumbys.

We still have 2 of them, 1 92 (20thou over ea81, lightened flywheel and canopy) that we are slowly fixing up and an 88 which I had for a while and now is in pieces without a straight panel.

Mum did 80 km's per day on dirt and then 40km on winding course tar road that was sometimes that bad with ice that she went off and landed in a tree and I spun out once with chains on and nearly drove off the edge.

The bloke who took over the run uses a GU and is on the look out for a really good brumby as the GU is too big and thirsty to make money doing it.
