YES, and dont forget to mention that you had to take a VL COMMODORE to a 4x4 comp because your "REAL" 4x4 was still to damaged from the last comp.

So bisicaly you are saying exactly what i said but you have gone into more detail.
But it looks to me that you beleive a stock 80series CV is stronger than a LONGFIELD or a C.O.R.E cv?

I have been running LONGFIELDS now for approx 8 months with no failures but i could break a stock cv at call. On average i could break 2 stock cv's in a day of wheeling. I run 38.5/16/15 Claws and there are a couple of other guys on here also running 38.5s and larger that have had a good run with the Longfields.

I have seen 80series CVs break just as easy as a hilux cv as well. And lots of them.

I have stood about 3 feet from one as it was laucnhing up a ledge and broke one!! ive also seen one break one whilst towing in reverse, well it broke at the same time as the r&p Laughing

AWESOME!!!

Sorry dude, Tony showed me what driving hard was all about, and I can say without a doubt I'll bet my a$$ he drives a lot harder than you've ever dreamed of! Despite the fact neither of us owns 4WDs we do frequent events and have lots of friends in the sport!

Your longfields may be o/k but i fail to see how changing the CV fixes all the other problems with the inner CV spider, king pin bearings and swivel balls . What your your stating inducates your a flat ground wheeler and i very much doubt you have seen a 80 series CV break, probably heard of one breaking![/quote]

Man, if you knew what these guys drive and how they drive it, you would understand why they are laughing at you.

dont want to push in but to run front and rear patrol diffs you will have to run patrol trnsfr case as they are reverse cut gears in the front diff where as in a landcruiser they are not so if you fit just the diffs then you will be driving towards each other .Also if you are after a set of super strong CVs to suit a landcruiser 40/60 series then i can put you onto a set with lifetime guantee

Sorry guys someone may have already replied to this but you do NOT have to run a GQ transfer to run the diffs as stated the are reverse cut NOT rotation the Hilux we did runs the standard transfer and works fine. Rolling Eyes

you did runs? (too much info)

there is a t-case from memory that is TRUE reverse rotation for the front, from memory it is a 2.5ton rated Ford. (not rockwell and not 1 tonne) cool. But yeah the hilux axle spins backwards in the front anyways, so thats not a good indication, the way to correct it is to put in a tailshaft as you describe in your other thread.
