Looks kinda cool. Wondering if that diff could be incorporated into a live axle.

Is that these diffs into a live axle. Or using Rods to disable the independant susp, then using a normal link setup?

From the videos it looks like the Revo suspension setup works well with the truck.

I so have to pay more attention. Maybe I should just goto the bolt shop and get the bits for my AX-10. And finish that. Before i think about selectable lockers.

O.M.G,,, what an awesome car.
Just bailed my summit out from the local hobby shop on friday gone, apart from having to add a different plug onto my charger to suit the traxxas hi volt plugs i have had an absolute blast with this so far Very Happy
The low gear has bucket loads of torque and im amazed at how fast it can run in hi gear.
Only thing that would make this even more fun is a winch up front!!
Looking at videos of crawlers on the net recently, i have seen a Hi-lux body that looks sweet,,, wondering what scale it is,, i wanna put it on my summit. Rolling Eyes ( i think it suits SCX10,, what size scale is this?)
My old T-maxx has a Fj 45 type body on it,(which looks sweet) in the traditional Toyota "baby poo brown"..
It would be good to have a second tojo armsup
Tojo's rule!!! heh heh heh...

Tower Hobbies have them for $539.99 US

If you use the code 016MG you might get the international orders discount of $125. The code is for members only but it might slip through, or become a member first for $20 which you get back as a discount on delivery cost.

That makes it around $450 AU + delivery.

I have looked into that but I would still need to buy batteries and a charger. Adds up pretty quick as I would want Lipo's to get that extra top speed and runtime.
I have a 2/3 cell lipo charger and 1 11.1V lipo already, is there any way I could use this as a short stop till I get some more? This way I might get it after all.

I'm currently looking at this Brushless HSP as a christmas pressy do you think they are worth the $$
I realy like the look of the summit but it would be my first RC car and i'm not 100% sure I would use it once the novalty wears off.

Save your money and get something a bit more solid. I have seen those HSP things fall apart after some abuse. The motor in them are fairly cheap. I have one here and it goes great in a smaller car, but I wouldn't run it in a truck.

Personally, I would get the summit as it is more versatile. It comes with two batteries already and will give you enough enjoyment before you choose if you need to go to LiPo's. As always, you get what you pay for.

From what I have been looking at (correct me if i'm wrong) you need to buy batteries on top of that price. None of the factory summits come with batteries.
I did notice that the Tower site mentions 2 x 3000mAh 7 cell batteries and they say the only accessories needed are batts dor the transmitter and a charger but I ignored this as every other site including the trazzas site said you need to buy them.
Please tell me I'm wrong. Have you got one from tower and did it come with batteries?

I haven't got one from them, but if it says it comes with batteries, it would come with batteries. Tower most likely add them in themselves. If you also look at what other items people bought with the summit on tower, usually if you need batteries they would be on top of the list.

Just going through the Tower checkout with the code mentioned but it says:
Tower Hobbies wrote:

Darn, dont think I can justify the extra. Can get $50 off on an offer on the home page but that still leaves me $75 worse off.

Don't know of a way I can get any bette do you?

Got my Summit on Christmas day (thanks to the wife hideing it from me).
The ones from tower come with 2 traxxas 8.4V 3000mAh batteries. Borrowed a charger from a mate and have had an absolute ball with it so far!
Not a the best crawler but suprising where it can go, flick into high range, front diff lock on and it flies. Soakes up all the bumps and have realy good control.

Getting nearly 1 hour of low range fun or 1/2 Hr to 45 mins combined high and low with the batteries that came with it.

AU$660 delivered with the US$125 discount. Still $140 cheaper than AU (which dont have batteries from the hobby shops and online retailers I talked to), Plus charger.

All up verry happy so far.

Going well. Had probably 20 runs so far and only broken the rear left hand axle shaft twice (called a half shaft i found out) crawling.
Adjusted the slipper chutch and all good so far.
